Strict hygiene regulations and a consequently technologically demanding production process are characteristic of the production of plastic moulded parts of the highest quality for medical and laboratory technology. Only high-quality raw materials and mould components are used for these injection moulds. In many cases, only biocompatible lubricants are approved for the moulds, or production must even be carried out without lubricants. Innovative sliding coatings are all the more in demand as a result. Furthermore, there are usually special requirements for mould maintenance, mould inspections, cleaning and storage. In addition, injection moulds used in medical and laboratory technology are subject to increased expenditure for risk assessment, validation, product documentation and product support.
